THE RUSH ARE STILL UNDEFEATED

Earlier this week the Rush traded backup Quarterback Justin Roper and Defensive Back Kelvin Rodgers for Mack Linebacker Nekos Brown. The Rush were thin at Mack Linebacker at the start of the season. But last night the Rush put on a football clinic against the Kansas City Command with a commanding 69-40 victory. The Rush continue their unbeaten streak and they remain the AFL’s only unbeaten team. The Rush defense was supreme once again as they held KC to just 13 points at halftime. Defensive Back Vic Hall and Jack Linebacker Kelvin Morris had interceptions for the Rush, and Defensive End Derek Walker collected another sack.

And the Rush offense was just as dominating. Russ Michna threw 7 touchdown passes, 3 of which went to Reggie Gray. Even newly aquired backup QB Luke Drone saw some action and went 5-7 for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns. And Kelvin Morris got to see some offensive action and scored on a 2 yard touchdown run. After the game Russ Michna had this to say about his wide receivers: “All of our wide receivers have their own unique strengths and that’s exactly what makes them dangerous as a whole. I beg Coach Bob McMillen every week to activate all four,” After last night’s performance perhaps Coach Bob McMillen will continue to due just that.

Next up for the Rush, they hit the road again for just their second road game of the season as they will take on the Georgia Force. The Force will be reeling from a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Soul last night in which they gave up an all-time league record for points allowed in a game. They lost to Philly 92-42. The Rush will be looking to reopen the wounds from last night’s loss. The Rush will return home on Saturday April 21st to take on the Milwaukee Mustangs.
