It was a highly energetic 1st period here at the Allstate Arena. The building is filled to capacity, the crowd is alive, and they are happy that the Wolves are in the playoffs again this year. The Wolves are trying to bounce back from last night’s overtime loss to Milwaukee and so far they are on the right track. Wolves Right Winger Niklas Jensen scored the only goal in the first period at the 10:31 mark after he had just came out of the penalty box. He was in there for 2 minutes for holding. The Wolves defense held strong for the remainder of the period. There was a little skirmish half way through the period.

Wolves Forward Anton Rodin was knocked into the boards pretty hard by Rivermen Fowards Chris Bruton, afterwards the fight broke out. Bruton was sent to the box for a 5 minute boarding penalty. He will still have to serve the remaining 42 seconds once the 2nd period starts. You can continue to follow me on Twitter: @GabeSalgado82 Hashtag: #Q101Sports
