Lucky Motorcyclist Survives 40-foot Fall

Evidently his number was not up. First, he slams into a concrete divider wall going 60 to 70 m.p.h.

Then he flies off the cycle over a 40-foot ramp and LANDS ON HIS FEET on the embankment. Doing that, however, he shattered both of his thigh bones.

Yesterday, the Chicago man was traveling south on the winding feeder ramp toward Interstate 55 on his 1999 Honda motorcycle when he lost control and hit a left concrete barrier, said Trooper Mark Hall.

The rider was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
