Four kids on Chicago’s North Side got to experience a real life episode of COPS this week. Their school bus driver, who was taking them to a public elementary school, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped for erratic driving, officials said Wednesday.
Once the bus driver finally pulled over, the officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath and noticed his eyes were bloodshot.
Kenny Sellers, of Chicago, failed a field sobriety test but refused to take a breath test. Taken to the 17th District police station, Sellers tried to escape and fought with a police officer. Sellers received seven citations, including a felony count of aggravated DUI for a bus driver and aggravated battery against a police officer.
Thankfully, the kids were okay and were transported to school by another bus driver.
