Linkin Park Will Tour With Thirty Seconds To Mars
As Linkin Park adds Thirty Seconds to Mars to the Carnivores tour on August 8. In an interview with Billboard.com Linkin Park explanins. “We decided to poll our fans to see who they’d like us to tour with, and five or six times in a row I think Thirty Seconds to Mars has either been the most popular band they wanted to see us tour with or #2. I’ve never seen them out of the top three. So it’s been a long time that our fans wanted to see us tour together.”
Mike Shinoda also described the Carnivores tour production as “more-video based,” incorporating James Jean’s artwork for The Hunting Party. “It adapts with the show,” Shinoda explained. “I think in the context of a live show it’s important to have something that lives and breathes with the show… One of the challenges that I posed to the production team was… if we decided to play something different, if we decided to extend a part, whatever we decide to do, I want the artwork to change with the performance. So it needs to be malleable.”

The Who Wants Your Videos
The Who’s 50th anniversary is coming up, and to celebrate they’re calling on their fans to send in their videos. Rolling Stone reports that the band is asking for video and audio footage, bootlegs of live shows, photos and more to be submitted as part of the anniversary celebration. The band will then pick from the pool of artifacts and select the best to include in forthcoming anniversary-related releases — with credit, of course. The fans who submit such treasures will be given two VIP tickets for the band’s upcoming tour as well. Fans with worthwhile Who memorabilia should email the band at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wovenwar Release New Video For All Rise
In an interview with AllMusic, Gilbert talks about All Rise, stating, “That song, the lyrics were written by Shane and detail his past struggles in the music industry. A lot of people took them as relating to our situation, but it’s written by Shane and painting certain people in the industry as vampires who are there to suck the life out of you to make a buck.”
The bassist continues, “That song is cool and anthemic because you can really apply the chorus to any sort of situation or whatever that you’re trying to overcome. That song came together really fast; it was the first song we had a proper demo for, and Shane came and stayed with me and we wrote the lyrics and melody for it in one night, recorded the whole thing, and it was the first moment where we really realized that things were going to work with the new band.”
ICP Juggalos Go Too Far
Two juggalos have been arrested for attempted murder and assault after reportedly deciding that their housemate, a fellow Insane Clown Posse fan, had disrespected the Detroit duo.
According to DelmarvaNow, Paul Martin Hurst, 33, and Cary Lee Edwards, 35, brutally attacked housemate Zachary Swanson, 31, leaving Swanson with fractures to the nasal area and face, 11 broken ribs, a lacerated liver and bleeding in his brain. Additionally, the two alleged attackers also tried to carve an Insane Clown Posse tattoo off of Swanson’s arm, also setting the arm on fire.
The charging documents in the case state that the burning was “an attempt to remove a tattoo that Edwards did not believe that Swanson earned.” Sadly, due to the violent attack, Swanson’s arm had to be amputated below the elbow.
Billy Corgan Planning A Multi-Volume Collection
In a new posting, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins writes, “My next planned release will be the start of a multi-volume collection of home demos from 1985-1990, which, if those who work for me can be believed, has over 800 titles to consider.”
“A word of caution, as these ‘works’ are all over the place in terms of quality, etc, as I was just a kid of 18 when I started making my own recordings; and not only do my influences show a little too hard in places, but so do my inadequacies as a sound engineer. To help avoid confusion then over what would be on the records, short sound clips of every release will be made avail; as many are instrumental or ‘vibey’ in nature and may not appeal to everyone (I didn’t really start singing my own songs until I was 19).”
