Geoff Tate Claims Victory Over Queensryche

Tate claims he is the winner after the out-of-court settlement. He tells San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: “I’m very happy. I’m extremely financially happy right now. They had to pay me, which is what they should have done all along. That’s exactly what the whole court case was about.

“So they finally agreed to pay me for my share of the name and the business. So here I am. I’m continuing on doing what I do and they can continue doing what they do, and we’ll all be happier.

“A lot of people are saying now that the other guys ‘won’ the name. Well, they didn’t win it. We never went to court. It was all an agreement on a settlement out of court. It was a financial arrangement. So it wasn’t like a ‘win-lose’ thing. In my opinion, I think I won.”

Powerman 5000 Team Up With Wayne Static

Wayne Static says: “2014 has been an awesome year! We just finished up the 15th anniversary Wisconsin Death Trip tour. I’ve got the best band behind me that I’ve ever had, and I am very excited to round out the year with a co-headline tour with Powerman 5000. It’s another 15th anniversary tour!”

Static continues, “It’s a testament to both bands that we are both still going strong and the timing is perfect for us to tour together again. I am equally excited to share the stage with American Head Charge again. I believe it was 2005 when we toured together last. This is a great lineup and this tour is gonna kill!”

Godsmack Cancel Uproar Performance

Godsmack’s Facebook post reads as follows:

As some of you may heard: Unfortunately none of the main stage acts on RockstarUPROAR Fest were able to play today on the main stage due to unforeseen production/technical issues with that stage itself. We were unable to fit our production onto the smaller side stage to perform, and so therefore were unable to play. We are very sorry to disappoint, but please know that it was out of our control. We wanted nothing more than to be able to deliver the kind of show our fans know us for tonight. We hope to return and play for you all as soon as possible!

If you had a ticket for the Uproar show in Mt Pocono today, SAVE YOUR TICKET! You will be able to come to the show at Susquenna Bank Centerin Camden, NJ this Tuesday for FREE. To redeem this offer, all you have to do is bring your ticket stub from the Mt Pocono show and exchange it at Susquehanna Bank Center Box office this Tuesday. Seat locations subject to availability. Again we apologize for any inconveniences and hope to see you Tuesday!

Shadows Fall Decide To “Take A Hiatus”

Shadows Fall posted the following message on Facebook:

The band has been touring non-stop for over a decade and has decided that it’s time to “take a hiatus” from future extensive touring. In addition to this upcoming European run, Shadows Fall are planning a final North American tour and will possibly visit a few other territories some time over the next year. We will post details once everything is locked in. There are many factors that are behind this difficult decision that the band has been dealing with for some time now. In a nutshell it comes down to families, member availability, and finances.

Further impacting our decision is the fact that we have two members with young children. Plain and simple, they want to be with their families to watch their kids grow. Touring full time in a band these days has never been more difficult financially. When you have to ensure the future comfort of your family, difficult decisions have to be made.

Another reason is the fact that our lead guitarist (Jon Donais) is now in Anthrax, which makes it hard for us to do any extensive touring with our full lineup.
Due to his obligations with Anthrax, he will not be able to join us on this European tour. Felipe Roa will once again fill Jon’s position and we are thankful to him for joining us on this run. Also returning for this tour is original bassist Paul Romanko who has sat out from touring for the last two years to raise his son. This has been a real hard decision for all of us to make but we feel at this time this is the right thing to do. We don’t hate each other, we’re not bitter, we in fact still have a really great time together, but the ride has slowed down and it’s time for the next chapters in our lives, whatever that may be.

We can’t thank the fans that have supported Shadows Fall since the beginning enough. Without you, none of this would have been possible. For the past decade and a half, we have been able to create the music we have always wanted to hear and share it with music fans everywhere. That being said, you still may see us at a festival or two over the next few years…if they ask, we will come! In the meantime please check out the dates for the last European go around and we will see you out there!

Limp Bizkit Release ‘Endless Slaughter’ Video

Durst told Metal Hammer, “It’s a little crazier than usual. It’s more off the wall, pretty outrageous. It’s hard to explain, but I think this will be the one which changes the way we make music from here on out.”
