Your mother loves you in spite of who you are. Getting her a card and gift for Mother’s Day this weekend will prove to HER how much you love her back. Flowers or candy are certainly nice, to be sure, but it demonstrates just how unoriginal you are with your gift choices.
Show her how much you really care by taking the time TODAY to pick a unique gift she will be sure to treasure for a lifetime. Maxim Staffers have put together a Mother’s Day Gift Guide that includes gifts from every price range and taste. As for me, I’ll take the pink flask.

He is barbaric. His long hair hangs past his shoulders. His beard is unkempt. He chugs from a drinking horn and spits at the crowd. Can you air guitar like this guy?
He is Nordic Thunder.
His motto: Pain is temporary but air guitar is forever.
Justin Howard, 28, a Chicago native, will command the stage at the regional air guitar competition on June 29 at the Metro. He’ll be doing a special halftime performance and competing. If he is victorious, he’ll go up against handpicked competitors from a dozen cities to head to the national finals in Denver. If he conquers that, like he did last year, he advances to the World Championship in Finland this summer. He placed second at the World Championship.
Howard recently shared tips with Leonor Vivanco, RedEye, Chicago Tribune.

The space on the 12th floor can accommodate up to 500 people, or more than 100 startups, who are seeking flexible terms and a collaborative environment. The spots will cost new startups between $125 and $400 a month and include a bunch of great benefits such as conference rooms, storage space, use of A/V equipment, mentorships, access to classes and seminars, and more. There is even an Intelligentsia coffee bar. The calendar for May is already booked with events such as “hack nights” for female software developers and workshops on contracts and marketing.

@MartyDerosa slams with #WWECoverbands
As an aspiring comedian and ’smart’ wrestling fan whose constantly tuned into the ever-flowing internet chatter of other like-minded fans, it was a real treat to see the ‘WWE Universe’ get blasted by a super-nova of the ridiculously funny hash-tag trend #wwecovrbands on Twitter this week. Started by Twitter user @Bar_Nez and Chicago comedian @MartyDerosa this past Wednesday, the joke started with one tweet between the two wrestling fans, steamrolled out of Chicago, and onto becoming a world-wide trending topic by the end of the day. WWE superstars like @CMPunk, @IamJericho (Chris Jericho), and @ZackRyder joined in on the rock ‘n wrassl’n humor as well. I found myself writing and reading other tweets about this joke for well over 2 hours while at work on Wednesday. It may not have been a productive day at the office, but it was certainly a day where I laughed hardest ever at any job I have ever had.
Here is the origianl Tweet that started the whole thing…
@Bar_Nez @martyderosa @WWE Jinder Mahal & Oates #wwecoverbands
The joke formula is pretty simple. You take a pro wrestling star’s stage name and combine it with the name of a popular (or once popular) musical act. It sounds silly because it is, but the results are entertaining even if you can’t come up with a clever phonetic spin on the formula. Here is a collection of the some of the funniest #WWEcoverband tweets posted this week. You can share your own #WWEcoverband joke with me @KevKellam.

I could go on and on for days. There is literally thousands of the smile-enducing gems like these on this page on twitter.com. Check out Marty Derosa continue to make Pro Wrestling funny with NWA World Champion @ColtCabana with their weekly web series, “Creative Has Nothing For You” where they spoof the behind-the-scenes life of wrestlers at the bottom of the card. The comic/wrestler duo also produce the must-see $5 Wrestling DVD series for Highspots.com, which had a sold-out crowd for a live show in Miami during Wrestlemania weekend earlier this month.
Don’t get THIS guy on your bad side…Jicheng “Kevin” Liu was a prolific burglar with a mean streak who cyberstalked anyone who crossed him, Cook County prosecutors say.
In retaliation for his arrest in the theft of a stroller, Liu ran online ads claiming his accuser performed acts of prostitution out of her Roscoe Village residence, authorities said. The woman and her husband were awakened in the middle of the night several times earlier this year by men at their front door who thought they had appointments for sex.

What is going through this dude’s HEAD? Air? “Maybe if I feign sleep, I’ll get away with it. ”
Dan Hinkel from the Chicago Tribune reports:
After ditching an allegedly stolen minivan and running from police, a Chicago man tried to avoid arrest by diving through the open front window of his home, running to a bedroom and pretending to be asleep, authorities said.
The officer was unconvinced, and the 27-year-old man was arrested Friday night and charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle, obstruction and various traffic offenses.
