Never been to Warped? Check this out: The trailer from the Definitive (there may be no others, honestly) documentary about the Tour, No Room For Rockstars. There’s a review of it below as well.
The Review courtesy of “Blogfully.net”:
John and I watched ‘Vans Warped Tour: No Room For Rockstars’ yesterday morning and in just a few sentences, I can tell you my exact thoughts and opinions of this film.
No Room For Rockstars is a documentary film that – for me – was an absolute thrill to watch. By default, I’m a music enthusiast. I love listening to all types of music (except for a select two, which I won’t mention here). At the same time, I’m a documentary lush. I could sit and watch documentary films all day long and be tickled.
No Room for Rockstars gave me the chance to see just how a concert tour like Warped Tour is run; ‘behind-the-scenes.’ I mean, from a fan’s view, the whole experiences is great. As a fan, we go to enjoy the music. To grab fan merchandise. As fans, we don’t have to worry about cleaning up, tearing down, and traveling to the next spot (usually a different State) by the next morning. That’s not the case for the equipment crews, the bands and the wanna-be-band-features. They actually live it, work it, travel it, day in and day out, from the first show to the last.

The Chicago Gay Pride Parade’s attendance continues to escalate year after year. For 2012, there will be less parade entries, but a longer route to accommodate all the revelers.
Sunday’s celebration, which begins at noon, will include the Uptown neighborhood, and extend an additional five blocks in the name of safety and crowd control.
Alderman Tom Tunney, 44th, said organizers knew big changes were necessary when last year’s numbers were pushing up against 750,000 people, up from 200,000 attendees recorded only five years earlier.
“We knew the previous year’s route, which trapped many constituents in my ward between Halsted and Broadway for nearly the whole day, would no longer work,” Tunney said. “Last year, we had too much congestion in the central Lakeview neighborhood.”
The new route is intended to create more viewing space and additional access to public transportation, he said.
“We’ll also be able to open the streets back up to the community more quickly after the parade is finished as soon as possible,” Tunney said.

Few things in life are certain, but this is: You’ll never hear the Muppets swear.
When late Muppet co-creator Jim Henson was alive, he and puppeteer Frank Oz amused themselves and crew members by ad-libbing during rehearsals and between takes on TV and film shoots.
“I can’t be specific, but I can tell you that Frank has a naughty sense of humor,” Henson’s son Brian said during a recent visit to Chicago. “My dad had a really naughty sense of humor. So they were goofing around when they knew the cameras weren’t rolling.”
That’s how emotionally realistic characters were and still are born.
“When you watch Miss Piggy and Kermit and Fozzie and Gonzo and all of them, they’re very deep characters and you get the sense that they’re very deep,” Brian said. “And part of the way you develop that is by messing around in an adult way.”
Then there’s “Stuffed and Unstrung,” an adult-themed, puppet-starring comedy and musical extravaganza from Henson Alternative. Born almost by accident in 2005, “Stuffed” (under another title) debuted publicly the next year and opens locally Tuesday for a short run during the TBS Just for Laughs Chicago comedy festival.
Featuring a gaggle of 90 expensive and carefully maintained puppets dubbed “Miskreants” (only a fraction of which are used in any given performance), six rotating improviser-puppeteers (of 20 or so on staff), music, a puppet wrangler and a host (Patrick Bristow), “Stuffed” is largely composed of set musical numbers and improvised comedic scenes created by riffing on audience suggestions. Sometimes those suggestions are, as Brian might put it, “naughty.” Sometimes they’re not.
Perhaps most intriguingly, while their hollowed-out playmates appear on the ends of arms and huge video screens, Brian and his cohorts work in full view of the audience. No blocking, no stopping. And if things go awry, no hiding.

Are you disappointed the Taste of Chicago will only be held for five days this year? Five days, down from 10 in previous years, and considerably smaller.
Thursday, the city released the names of this year’s restaurants; there will be 37 full-time participants this year, down from 57 a year ago. Which means 20 restaurants that had participated in the 2011 Taste won’t be around this summer.
“A lot of people lost money last year, us included,” said Guey Lon owner Jean Lee. “We’re a small restaurant; we have to at least break even to do (Taste). This year, with only five days, it’s very iffy; if it rains one day, you’ve had it. I wish the restaurants this year good luck and good weather.”
The sole newcomer is Pazzo’s, a Loop restaurant that will be serving chicken vesuvio sandwiches and tiramisu at Taste.
Eli’s Cheesecake, the only remaining restaurant to have participated in every Taste of Chicago, will be back. So will Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, which has been at every Taste of Chicago but the very first one.
In addition, 15 first-time participants will be at Taste for one day each. These so-called Pop-Up restaurants, including Arun’s and West Town Tavern, are by definition joining Taste for the first time. There will be three Pop-Up booths at Taste each day.
Taste of Chicago will run July 11-15 in Grant Park.

No, it’s not a Lego party.
The two-night, two-block party is allegedly one of the top spots for Chicago singles, as Oprah has claimed it has produced more than 70 marriages after couples met there and later married.
Attendance reaches about 20,000 each year, the organizers said.
If you go:
When: June 29-30 Where: Madison Street and Des Plaines Avenue Cost: $40-$45 per night, $75 two-night pass; includes four free beverages (beer, wine, soda or bottled water)

Veterans, Q101 thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for you and your families’ sacrifice for our country.
This day is not JUST about parties and cookouts. Sure,we will attend a cookout, have a great time, hoist a beer, and laugh. But keep in mind those who served our country.
If you are in or near Munster, IN, today, take a few moments to visit the Veteran’s War Memorial. There will be a service at 11:30 a.m. Veterans will be there throughout the day.
Stop by, shake their hand, and thank them for their service. Bring an extra ice water or two to share.
It’s gonna be a hot one, but still, take the time. You will be glad you did.
