Let see…Football, Pro-wrestling, girls, beer, Football. I wish there was more but, unfortunately, these are the cards I was dealt. From the time I was young sports and pro-wrestling were what I loved the most. While my classmates had heroes like Einstein, Lincoln, or Kennedy, I could argue that Jim McMahon and Hulk Hogan were just as important to the formation of America.

After my dreams of a career on the gridiron were dashed… well alright, who am I kidding, there never really was a chance,. but, it sounds good. Anyway, I attended Columbia College to follow my other dream…radio. Columbia is a great place to learn the finer points of radio: Everyone is going to be a star, you’ll never start off in Chicago, and scorned radio people don’t always make the best teachers. What Columbia actually prepares you for the most important event in any aspiring radio stars career: THE INTERNSHIP.

I had my internship at Rock 103.5. I was stationed in the promotion department. Anyone who argues that promotions isn’t the most thankless, underpaid, over worked job in radio is a complete liar. I must have done something right because, I was eventually offered the job handling all the bar nights for the station. It was at this point that I met the most important contact of my radio career: Turd. I know, stupid radio name. But, my early radio career was spent in every drinking establishment in the Chicago land area, helping Turd entertain the masses. And making up for my lack of pay by consuming free liquor. But that’s a completely different story. Meanwhile, our morning show, Mancow’s Morning Madhouse took off for Q101 and Turd got me a job as one their producers…see I told you he was important.

Six months into the job, I found myself in the executive producer chair. And there I sat for 8 years. An accomplishment I am very proud of. Overseeing one of the biggest morning shows in America is no small task. We had everyone on the show from President Bush to Kevin Spacey and everyone in between. We changed the perception that Chicago was a fly-over city. We made it a place you had to go. Along the way, I became known as Jim Jesus “The Yelling Guy”, met every wrestler I ever wanted to meet as a kid, and saw too many things that can’t be repeated. Not bad.

Do you think Hillary Clinton should know what Red Bull is?
Yes.
No.
