David Byrne Shares Cover Of Paramore's 'Hard Times'

David Byrne recently shared a cover of Paramore's After Laughter single "Hard Times."

While retaining the original's tribal drums, Byrne has added a dose of brass to his version, making it feel more celebratory than Paramore's version.

"Paramore recorded an amazing version of 'Burning Down The House' for a Stop Making Sense covers album that A24 is doing in connection with the re-release of the film," Byrne wrote with the announcement of the cover. "The band told me that their song 'Hard Times' was inspired by Talking Heads, so I learned it and recorded my version of their great song with a horn section. This was fun!" Byrne's "Hard Times" version was combined with Paramore's rendition of Talking Heads' "Burning Down the House" for a joint 12-inch Record Store Day exclusive vinyl release on April 20.

Billie Eilish Reveals 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' Tracklist

Billie Eilish Reveals 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' Tracklist

Nine-time Grammy winner Billie Eilish recently revealed the tracklist for her upcoming album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

The album does not feature any collaborative tracks. Among the songs featured on the forthcoming record are "Skinny," "Lunch," "L'Amour De Ma Vie," "Blue," and "Wildflower."

"Chihiro," which Eilish teased in an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lower earlier in the month, is also part of the upcoming record.

"Every time you put anything out, it feels like your nudes leaked a little bit," Eilish said of the upcoming album. "I think this one specifically is like that. Something that Finneas and I said to a couple of people when we started to play it for people is we kind of made the album that if somebody had said, 'I want you to make an album and no one is going to hear it. You don't have to worry about anyone's ears or opinions or anything at all. It's in your contract to make an album but no one can hear it.' We pretty much made that album. We made that album without much thought of other people."

Hit Me Hard and Soft, which arrives on May 17th, follow's Eilish's 2019 debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and her 2021 sophomore effort Happier Than Ever.

While announcing Hit Me Hard and Soft earlier in the month, Eilish shared that she would not be dropping singles from the album ahead of its release as she wants to give the album to fans "all at once."

The album will arrive in digital and limited physical variants. A note on Eilish's website says the record will be released on eight different vinyl variants which will be produced "with the most sustainable practices available."

Hit Me Hard and Soft Tracklist:

"Skinny""Lunch""Chihiro""Birds Of A Feather""Wildflower""The Greatest""L'Amour De Ma Vie""The Diner""Bittersuite""Blue"

Staind Share New Version Of 'Better Days' Featuring Dorothy

Staind Share New Version Of 'Better Days' Featuring Dorothy

Staind recently shared a new version of their song "Better Days' featuring Dorothy.

The original version of the track appears on the multi-platinum-selling rock band's album, Confessions of the Fallen, released in September 2023.

Dorothy Martin, the lead singer of the band Dorothy, performs the new version of the song with Staind lead singer and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis.

Speaking about the collaboration with Dorothy, Lewis said it was a departure for him.

"It's really the first time Staind explored a feature with a female guest vocalist. Once we started tracking I could tell the synergy was there," he said. "We didn't have to pick harmonies, we didn't have to analyze parts, they just happened. I'm stoked to have Dorothy on this single with me. Her talent and voice are incredible."

According to Dorothy, she had "a great time tracking 'Better Days.'"

"It's a beautiful song and I hope fans connect with it," she added. "I'm so grateful to Aaron for the opportunity."

"Lowest In Me," another track from the album, topped Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.

Pearl Jam Share 'Wreckage' From New Album 'Dark Matter'

Pearl Jam Share 'Wreckage' From New Album 'Dark Matter'

Pearl Jam recently released "Wreckage," the latest song from their new album Dark Matter.

Dark Matter, Pearl Jam's 12th studio album, dropped on Friday, April 19th via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records. Dark Matter marks the band's first release since critically acclaimed Gigaton in 2020.

"That one probably has the biggest build for me personally, in terms of hearing it at first and thinking, it's kind of an Ed song," Stone Gossard shares. "I wasn't quite aware of its potency until later. Andrew [Watt] encouraged me to play this little harmonic, acoustic part almost like a Cure melody. I've been playing along with the song to relearn it and I'm really looking forward to playing it live. It's a really powerful lyric and I think we did a really great job of taking something and really pushing it to its limit."

"['Wreckage'] started with the riff and everyone kind of formulating sections together," adds producer Andrew Watt. "That song just came to Ed right away. Within the first couple takes before the music was even right, his vocals were right. His melodies and words are so strong in that song. Once the initial spark was there and there were a few sections, it was just really about following him."

The band also celebrated indie record stores with the release of a special edition of the project on April 20th for Record Store Day.

Blink-182's Tom DeLonge Unveils Signature Fender Starcaster

Blink-182's Tom DeLonge Unveils Signature Fender Starcaster

Blink-182 guitarist and co-lead vocalist Tom DeLonge has unveiled a new signature Starcaster guitar by Fender.

This one-of-a-kind Starcaster has many changes to the original, released in the 1970s. It features an offset semi-hollow body, "C" neck shape, 12"-radius rosewood fingerboard and DeLonge's logo on the neckplate.

DeLonge's first public performance with the guitar was on display during Blink-182's current global tour in support of the album, One More Time.

He shared its video on Instagram.

"I love this guitar, I really do. It's the coolest guitar ever made. Firstly, it is called a Starcaster-that's the most important thing. It goes to space and expands your mind," DeLonge said in a statement.

He added, "I've streamlined the electronics, added the '70s headstock to round out the weight, and chose the matte finish with black hardware, so its look matches its modern feel. This guitar shows my evolution as a player but also has the hallmarks of where I came from and what I'm about."

Courtney Love Slams Taylor Swift As 'Not Important,' 'Not Interesting As An Artist'

Courtney Love Slams Taylor Swift As 'Not Important,' 'Not Interesting As An Artist'

In a recent interview with The Standard promoting her BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Sounds series, "Courtney Love's Women," Courtney Love slammed Taylor Swift, saying "she's not important" and "not interesting as an artist."

"Taylor is not important," Love said. "She might be a safe space for girls, and she's probably the Madonna of now, but she's not interesting as an artist."

It's not known why Love has a contrarian view about Swift now after having wished her a happy birthday in December 2021 via Facebook. She called Swift an "aspirational huge role model for many young women" at the time. The post also featured a photo of Love and her "occasional hair twin/neighbor."

Courtney also spoke about Lana Del Rey and Madonna during the recent interview with The Standard.

"I haven't liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off," she said. "Up until 'Take Me Home Country Roads' I thought she was great. When I was recording my new album, I had to stop listening to her as she was influencing me too much."

About Madonna, Love said, "I don't like her and she doesn't like me. I loved Desperately Seeking Susan, but for the city of New York as much as her."

empathogen is set to arrive on May 3 and marks Willow's first studio album in nearly two years, following 2022's Coping Mechanism.
