Pearl Jam Unleash Punky New Single 'Running'

Pearl Jam Unleash Punky New Single 'Running'

Pearl Jam recently released a punky new single, "Running," from their upcoming album, Dark Matter.

"Lost in the tunnel and the tunnel's getting funneled / Like the sewage in the plumbing / 'Cause we left the fucking water running," the lyrics go.

The two-minute song follows the title track, which dropped last month. Dark Matter, the rock band's twelfth studio album, will be released via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on April 19.

Dark Matter was produced by Grammy award-winning producer Andrew Watt and is the band's first release since Gigaton.

Meanwhile, Pearl Jam will launch their Dark Matter World Tour in North America this spring. They'll head to Europe in the summer for outdoor shows, arena dates and festival slots.

Oasis To Reissue 'Supersonic' As Physical Single For 30th Anniversary

British pop icons Oasis are set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of "Supersonic" by re-releasing it as a physical single on April 12.

"Supersonic" was released by Oasis as their debut single on April 11, 1994. It appeared on their debut studio album, Definitely Maybe (1994).

The single reached No. 31 on the U.K. Singles Chart, No. 2 on the U.K. Independent Singles Chart, and No. 11 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.

"Supersonic" was written by lead guitarist Noel Gallagher and recorded in one single day at the Pink Museum Studio (now the Motor Museum) in Liverpool, England, in mid-December 1993. It was produced by Oasis and producer Mark Coyle.

Thirty years after it was first released, frontman Liam Gallagher has confirmed that the band will be re-sharing it as a physical release.

"To celebrate 30 years of Supersonic, the original CD single and a limited edition pearl-coloured and numbered 7" release on April 12th, 2024," he wrote in a post on Instagram.

Alongside the debut single, the physical copies will feature "Take Me Away," a track which also appeared as a B-Side to "Supersonic" when it was first released.

Gavin Rossdale Calls Divorce From Gwen Stefani His 'Simplest Shame'

Gavin Rossdale Calls Divorce From Gwen Stefani His 'Simplest Shame'

Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale has described his divorce from Gwen Stefani as his "simplest shame."

In the latest episode of the Amy & T.J. podcast with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, Rossdale opened up about his 2015 divorce from the No Doubt singer.

"I never thought I'd ever get divorced. So there's a simple shame in my life," he says.

"I feel bad for my kids... I wish I could have found a way to not have that in their lives. It wasn't fun for me to come from a broken home... It can be quite debilitating for kids... the overriding things is you don't want to let your kids down," Rossdale said, referring to his sons with Stefani; Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 10.

In apparent reference to his former wife, Rossdale said, "The biggest thing would be when you see the kids that sometimes there's a loss. It'd be nice if there was more of a connection with the person who made them with me."

In 2021, Stefani married singer Blake Shelton, who previously divorced from Miranda Lambert.

"I go to a lot of events where there's 'the other team,' so to speak and I just feel really proud of myself in my consistency as a father. I know in my heart that I'm super consistent," said Rossdale.

Roosdale said that although the separation was "hugely emotional," he preferred not to discuss their relationship in public.

Maggie Rogers Shares 'So Sick Of Dreaming' From Upcoming Album

Maggie Rogers recently released a new single, "So Sick Of Dreaming," from her upcoming third studio album, Don't Forget Me.

Rogers, who co-wrote and produced "So Sick Of Dreaming" with Ian Fitchuk, said in a statement that Don't Forget Me was written over the span of five days, and "So Sick Of Dreaming" was written "just before lunch on day two."

"I wanted to make an album that sounded like a Sunday afternoon," explains Rogers about the forthcoming record she co-produced with Fitchuk. "Worn in denim. A drive in your favorite car. No make up, but the right amount of lipstick. Something classic."

"The mohair throw and bottle of whiskey in Joan Didion's motel room. An old corvette. Vintage, but not overly Americana," she added. "I wanted to make an album to belt at full volume alone in your car, a trusted friend who could ride shotgun and be there when you needed her."

She penned two of the album's ten songs, and co-wrote the rest with Fitchuk.

Rogers previously shared "The Kill" and the title track from Don't Forget Me, which is due to arrive on April 12 via Capitol Records. The singer debuted these two songs as well "So Sick Of Dreaming" during her sold-out Summer of 23 North American headline tour.

Sum 41's Deryck Whibley To Release Memoir

Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley's memoir, titled "Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven And Hell," will be released on October 8.

Announcing the news via his Instagram page, Whibley wrote, "I am extremely honored and excited to announce that I have a memoir called 'WALKING DISASTER, My Life Through Heaven and Hell', which will be published by gallerybooks and released on October 8th".

The Canadian musician also shared the cover of the book, featuring a photo of him holding his guitar.

According to publisher Gallery Books, the memoir follows Whibley's rise from a punk kid in Canada to an international star.

"From winning at the MTV Video Music Awards, being nominated for a Grammy, his high-profile relationships and friendships, contending with invasive paparazzi, and suffering from health issues that brought him to the brink, Deryck offers a forthright and unforgettable memoir," it adds.

The singer, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist and songwriter remains the only constant member of the rock band since he co-founded it in 1994.

Eddie Vedder Compares Taylor Swift Fans To 'Punk Rock Crowds'

Eddie Vedder Compares Taylor Swift Fans To 'Punk Rock Crowds'

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder said in a recent interview with Mojo that he sees similarities between Taylor Swift's fans and the punk rock crowds of his youth.

Vedder, who said he made it to a Swift concert after one of his daughters convinced him to attend, added that he was immediately impressed by the communal atmosphere surrounding the show.

"The run-up to it, making friendship bracelets with her and the generosity of these young girls and boys, trading these bracelets with different messages on them - lyrics, song titles, just acts of goodwill on these little bracelets," Vedder explained in the interview. "They had found their tribe; they were all agreeing on something."

Vedder said that he saw a distinct similarity between Swifties and punk rock crowds despite the totally different musical style.

"The craziest thing," the singer noted, "was it reminded me of punk rock crowds, of being aligned with all of the misfits in our town, back in the day. It was galvanizing and powerful."

The Decemberists Announce New Album 'As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again'

The Decemberists have announced a new full-length album, titled As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again.

The album is set to drop on June 14 via the band's YABB Records, an imprint of Thirty Tigers. The project will be their first full-length LP since 2018's I'll Be Your Girl.

The band also shared a second single from the album, "Joan in the Garden," a follow-up to the previously released single "Burial Ground."

As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again was co-produced by bandleader Colin Meloy and Tucker Martine. It is the band's longest album to date.

"'Joan in the Garden' has been kicking around as an idea since the 'I'll Be Your Girl' sessions," Meloy said in a press release about the new track. "I got into a Joan of Arc kick after reading Lydia Yuknavitch's beautifully batshit novel The Book of Joan."

"I wanted to make my own version of Joan - but the song that came was as much about the creative process as it was about the actual woman, about angelic visitation and creative visitation and the hallucinogenic quality of both," Meloy added.

As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again tracklist:

Joseph, who shared the news on social media, revealed that they have so far finished work on eight of the music videos.

Although the album will feature 13 tracks, there will be two extra videos, Joseph confirmed. While one comes from the re-shooting of a visual already finished, the other comes because one of the songs will have "two versions," he added.

Joseph also confirmed that except the visual for the lead single, others will take more of a "lower budget DIY" approach.
