Thirsty? The Chicago Beer Festival is exactly the sort of thing you’ve been looking for. On Saturday, 60 breweries ranging from local favorites to nationally-recognized brands will take over Union Station downtown to serve up some 200 varieties running the gamut from pale ales and ciders to porters and seasonals.
Tickets to the festival run $40 and cover — wait for it — unlimited tastings at one of two three-hour event sessions, either 1-4 p.m. or 6-9 p.m. Saturday. Food is sold separately.
In addition to the tastings, Marty Nachel, author of “Beer For Dummies,” will be leading free classes on the brewing process and beer evaluations.
