A new toy for the TSA? Oh what fun they could have with THIS one.  Meet Clothbot.

Chinese roboticists have built a small, fabric-clutching robot that pulls itself up pants and shirts by creating wrinkles with its pair of gripper wheels, according to the IEEE Spectrum Automaton blog.

Video of the little bot doing its thing indicates that this is probably pretty unpleasant for the climbee.

The researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese University of Hong Kong who developed Clothbot figure it might make a nice toy or even become part of a “movable phone on our shoulder which frees human hands” —presumably not to simply swat the thing off when it starts creeping around all over our clothes.
