Had enough with the crooning amateurs covering tired songs from the seventies on contest-type musical TV shows? Maybe you LIKE to sit through the famous judges critiquing some poor soul’s performance of a lifetime. Not that it’s wrong.
Perry Farrell (have you heard of Lollapalooza?) is proposing a live music series to television networks, reports Entertainment Weekly. Instead of featuring singing competitions and celebrity judges, Farrell reportedly wants to create a showcase for established touring acts to come through and perform on TV for a large television audience.
No word on which network might be interested, if any, or what the show would be called, but one has to think that Farrell might be able to pull this off.

With most of the new songs written, My Chemical Romance will be heading back to the studio next month to begin recording.
During an interview with The Aquarian, Frank Iero, guitarist, said “It’s going really well, actually. I’m really excited. I can’t wait to start tracking. I think we’re maybe a month away from the record button lighting up.”
Iero also noted that the band’s new drummer Jarrod Alexander will also join them in the studio.
In September 2011, Jarrod filled in as the drummer for My Chemical Romance on their “Honda Civic tour”, after drummer Michael Pedicone left the band due to being caught “stealing from the band” and confessed to police after their show last September in Auburn, Washington.
