Awolnation and Red Bull Records are proud to unveil the latest in fan-to-band-to-fan networking called The AWOL “NATION” Project, an innovative new community-driven site that creates a living, breathing interactive experience centered around fan-contributed content.

Fans can post anything they want on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or Vimeo and if it’s tagged with the hashtag #awolnation, it will show up on the new AWOL “NATION” fan site in real-time.

Behind the scenes, The Uprising Creative, the design and development company behind the site, built it on top of a customized WordPress install and used custom-built tools to tap into the APIs from these four services Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Vimeo. As posts are found via the APIs, they are pulled into the site, and anything with a geo-tag is additionally mapped to its specific coordinates using the Google Maps API.
