If you love or make music, and you love or loved radio (as we did, have, and still do to a degree), you must watch this video. This is very well done, and especially chilling that it appears to be a decade or more old. Frank Zappa (God rest his soul) hasn’t looked like he does in this video since the late 80s we’d guess.
SO, assuming this was made in the late 90s, it’s shocking how much farther down the slope it’s gone for the mega-corporate-controlled radio and music industries than even the bleak picture painted by this video.
However…thanks to technology, things are looking up for independents. Like us.
Your phone. Is your “new” radio.
You hold the power in your hands (literally). You can choose now more than at any other time in history. Corporate force-fed homogenized pablum? You can have it if you like. OR, you can align with new thinkers embarking on new paths.
2012 is going to be an exciting year for Q101 and our friends. Are you coming along for the ride? If not, it’s ok. We’ll miss you. After all, the more the merrier.
If you are comin’ along, we want and need you involved. Stay tuned (in a matter of speaking), get mobilized, and get active with us.
Now then, watch this video. Thanks!

OH, THEN CHECK THIS OUT: Former Q101’er Kevin Manno talks about corporate radio on this podcast.
