Linkin Park Raising Funds for The West African Ebola Crisis
Shinoda, of Linkin Park, released the following statement:
Hey guys, hopefully you’ve been following our journey on the road during Carnivores Tour thanks to Chideo. For those of you who don’t know much about it, Chideo is the first online interactive charity broadcast network where fans can get access to exclusive video content and experiences with their favorite celebrities while doing some social good.
Giving back is incredibly important to me and to Linkin Park. In 2005, we started a nonprofit organization, Music for Relief, in response to the Indian Ocean tsunami that devastated many of the places we had just played on tour. Through Music for Relief, we are committed to utilizing our connections with other bands, people in the music industry and, most importantly, our fans to raise awareness for those in need around the world. Since its inception, Music for Relief has raised over $6 million to aid survivors of natural disasters and planted over 1 million trees to reduce climate change.
Right now, Music for Relief is responding to the deadly Ebola outbreak in West Africa. One of the most crucial aspects of fighting this deadly virus is having the protective gear to help those who are sick. Music for Relief is raising money for goggles, masks, gloves, full body suits and more for the brave aid workers responding to the crisis. The more gear they have, the better the chances there are of getting the virus under control and preventing it from spreading.
I want to encourage you all to get in on the conversation, and Chideo is a perfect place to get started. You can register on Chideo.com or download the Chideo app and you’ll gain access to behind-the-scenes video content (like our backstage dance party during Rob’s drum solo or Dave’s weirdest backstage tour ever), not to mention you’ll be the first to hear about future sweepstakes opportunities to get up close and personal with the band. On top of all that, your generous donation will support our charity Music for Relief. A full protective suit costs about $350, but with all of you contributing, the impact can be great.
It’s been a lot of fun reading your questions and creating our video responses – we hope you’ve enjoyed them, too. Please know that you are making a difference by donating to Music for Relief on Chideo and helping people in the greatest need around the world. Thank you.

Check out Celldweller’s New Song “Lost In Time”
According to Celldweller’s facebook page “Klayton is Celldweller. Personifying the sound of the iPod generation, he creates a hybrid fusion of digital and organic elements: intricately designed soundscapes constructed from Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Electro, woven together with aggressive Rock/Metal and Orchestral elements. Celldweller ignores genre boundaries and creates a pioneering vision of the future of electronic music.”
Avenged Sevenfold Reveal ‘Deathbat’ Video Game Details
In an interview with Loudwire, Avenged Sevenfold talks about ‘Deathbat’ video game details.
“We’ve been trying to downplay the music part because with the way our band sounds we don’t expect even half of our fans to get it or to understand it. It’s purely throwback video game music. A lot of 8-bit sounds but a lot of instrumentals. We made songs that reminded us of our youth playing ‘Castlevania’ or ‘Mario Brothers,’ ‘Zelda.’
So we made nine songs, which are original songs that we put together. They’ll be in the game. I’m sure we’ll do some sort of packaging where you can buy those songs with ‘Hail to the King’ or whatever. Or you can just play the game and listen to them. There’s nine songs, but we’re trying to downplay it. I don’t want everyone to think nine new songs, then they hear it and it’s a bunch of digital music.”
Rob Zombie Says New Album Is ‘Best Record Yet’
In a recent interview with San Jose’s Mercury News, Zombie said, “I really think this is the best record yet, truthfully. I don’t know if everybody says that — maybe they do. But I really feel that way.” He added that the record is “pretty much done,” and that he hopes to have it out at the “beginning of next year.”
“This will be our last tour for a while, actually. Because when this tour is done, I’m starting on a movie. It will be an awesome tour. The tours we have done in the last few years have been our best tours ever.”
Ace Frehley Not Happy With His Replacement In KISS
Frehley told The Village Voice: “I could sense he always wanted to be me. He used to be in a Kiss cover band. He didn’t do anything – he was hired by Paul and Gene to put on my makeup and costume and play my guitar solos – a business deal. If he wouldn’t have done it, they would have hired somebody else.
“What they really should have done is, if they wanted to dress up a guy to play lead guitar, they should have come up with different makeup, like they did with Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent. That’s what the fans are upset about.”
