‘Captain America: Civil War’ is getting great reviews

With the fallout of Batman v Superman settling in, superhero moviedom moves on to the big collision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain America: Civil War on May 6th. Now plenty of fans of Batman and Superman left the theaters expecting more from the anticipated DC super-clash, but the expectations of fans for the fight between Captain America and Iron Man is just as high. So how is ‘Civil War’ doing in initial reviews?

Apparently, it’s going to deliver the goods. Rotten Tomatoes currently has the film at 96% of early reviews. Some critics are throwing some hefty praise on it in comparison to other comic book films of the past. “[T]he best Marvel yet, with the greatest superhero action on film. It’s immense, marvelous action-packed fun” says Mark Hughes of Forbes.  So breathe a sigh of relief fanboy and fangirl, Tony and Scott are going to go at it and it’s most likely going to be beautiful.

Of course Cap and Iron Man are not the only the characters doing battle for the future of the Marvel world. This movie based off a huge all encompassing story from Marvel comics draws a line between heroes who choose to fall in with the government’s demand for oversight and those who choose to live independent of the government’s new regulations, so it’s bigger than just the two leads. This draws more costumed super powered people into the fray with the first appearances of the new Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) in a MCU film. Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansen), Bucky (Sebastian Stan), Vision (Paul Bethany), and Falcon (Anthony Makcie) all return on different sides of this fight as well.
