The Sharp Dressed Man is once again a Blackhakwk!
Today the Chicago Blackhawks made several roster moves with the most noteworthy being the return of Patrick Sharp from the Dallas Star on a one-year deal. The team confirmed the acquisition in a statement today. Sharp struggled in his last season with Dallas dealing with injuries, playing in only 48 games but he scored 8 goals in those games.
This does put the Hawks into the salary cap issue that is affecting many teams currently in the NHL. That situation is complicated by Marian Hossa being placed on Long Term Injured Reserve. The Chicago Sun-Times breaks down all the numbers and shuffling the Hawks made to deal with to stay under the dreaded cap.
Sharp rejoins Duncan Keith, Patrick Kane, Brent Seabrook and Jonathan Toews as three-time Stanley Cup champions on the Blackhawks roster.
