So unless you live underneath a rock, you likely heard or checked out today’s eclipse of the sun with special eye glasses with everyone else in America. Local weatherman and television treasure Tom Skilling of WGN News was beyond excited, he was emotional during today’s midday event in the sky as seen by these videos and the online response. This lovable man cried tears of joy at the site of the sun being blocked by the moon.
During his several breaks from a Carbondale beach covering the eclipse, he referenced it as a “life-changing event” and claimed he would get his “act together” but I don’t think anyone mined it at all. Skilling has proven over his decades on the air, to be genuine example of people’s passion to know what’s going in their environment around them.

The only thing better than watching the eclipse is Tom Skilling watching the eclipse. #SolarEclipse2017 @Skilling pic.twitter.com/o0t7u5Nyk1
