What’s the best Sci-Fi movie made since 2000?

Rolling Stone posted a list of top movies, which tend to always be delightfully debated but this one will get some flack and love at the same time. The reputable magazine/blog listed the ‘Top 20 Sci-Fi Films of the 21st Century’, with the cut-off being 2000. This eliminates locks for top spots like ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Blade Runner’ but also gives greater focus to cult classics and recent beloved blockbuster without having to play for a spot in the shadow of Darth Vader. Read the full list here.

There list includes obvious winners like ‘Inception’ and ‘Gaurdians of the Galaxy’ but also includes sleeper creepers like ‘Attack the Block’ and ‘Cloverfield’, which both deserve a spot. The RS list penned by multiple writers, also does not include Marvel or DC films which does give it a less broad scope, so how did a Pixar animated movie make the list? All of this can quickly become science ficiton semantics, but the list is well written. The lazer beam focus is appreciated but does this list beam up to your spaceship or does it get thrown into a black hole?

If you want it spoiled, the whole list in order is below.
