Weird Al Yankovic and the Foo Fighters are two distinctly different flavors of music, yet both are cherished for their unique sweetness. Well this week we got the musical equivalent of a Reese’s peanut butter cup when the master of musical comedy, Werid Al nailed an on-point cover of the Foo Figther’s classic “This Is a Call”. This comes from Yankovic’s ‘Ridiculously Self-Indulgent Ill-Advised Vanity Tour’ where he plays scaled down intimate versions of his deeper tracks.
“We’ve never played this one before, so cut us a little slack,” Yankovic said before ripping into this fist-pumping jam which our buds at Consequence of Sound turned us on to.
Does this mean the Foo have to cover a Weird Al song now? I really hope they do ‘Dare to be Stupid’.
