‘The Sandlot’ is one of the best children’s movies of all time. To any 90’s kid it pure nostaglic gold, but apparently it’s just another piece of gold to mined to another run.
Deadline reported yesterday that a prequel to the classic boys of summer flick is in the works with the story centering around ‘the Beast’, the monsterous dog that torments the cast when they hit baseballs into his yard. David Mickey Evans who wrote and directed the original film is attached to the potential project. The timing of the prequel comes just as ‘the Sandlot’ hits it’s 25th anniversary which saw the film get a special Blu-Ray re-release and one-night screening in movie theaters last month.
