MIke Shinoda since the passing of his Linkin Park bandmate Chester Bennington has been active musically releasing a very moving EP earlier this year and hitting the road againg, including a high-profile set this past week in the UK with Reading + Leeds Festival. PIQNIQ alums and all-around awesome dudes Sum41 were on the same bill, so why not have Shinoda join them on stage for a rousing cover of the LP favorite ‘Faint’!?
During Shinoda’s solo set earlier in the day, the entire massive crowd joined him to send love to Chester’s memory singing ‘In The End’. This video below shows Shinoda reaching out those dealing with the similar issues that Chester faced in mental health.
On September 22nd, 101WKQX will be putting together a team for the Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Walk to raise awareness about mental health, save lives and help the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention meet their bold goal to reduce the U.S. suicide rate 20% by 2025. If you want to join the cause and help those afflicted by this awful health problem, find out more here.

“Getting up here and doing this for me is really fulfilling, and it’s really an accomplishment just to kind of get over my own anxiety about doing it again” – Mike Shinoda.
