This video surfaced online last night with an unknown man climbing on top of a Red Line train while it was moving. Whether he was injured is not yet known, but really, this is dumb. This is so wildly unsafe and proves you can do things to harm yourself or others on the CTA. Please do not ever think to do this.
NBC 5 Traffic Reporter and all-around awesome person Jen DeSalvo alerted us to this freeloading adrenaline-fiend who just felt compelled for some reason to climb on top of a Red Line. Twitter user @soyyarielle posted the video.
Why? He already paid for the Ventra! Maybe he climbed up because it would smell better than a Red Line normally smells like at 1:30 on a Saturday morning.

After some digging around, we have not been able to find out anymore about this dare-to-be-stupid devil, but if you know anything reach out to us on Facebook or Twitter.
This is not the first time someone has done something like this. In 2016, DNAInfo alerted us to this video showing a man riding on the side of a Red Line train.
Now here is a virtual and safe way to get that outer-train experience with this official video from the CTA Connections Youtube channel showing a complete northbound Red Line from the perspective of the first car coming into each station. Actually watching this on a TV is oddly relaxing even though I have spent a massive amount on this train in my life.
