This weekend at the movies two big movies from two different genres are hitting theaters with built-in fan bases. Pop music queen Lady Gaga will join Bradley Cooper in a modern retelling of ‘A Star is Born’ while Tom Hardy will play a twisted parasitic Marvel Comics creature in ‘Venom’. The AV Club and Buzzfeed reported today this box-office match-up has driven some of Gaga’s ‘little monster’ fans to start flooding the web with fake negative reviews of Venom in hopes of tanking it, so that ‘A Star Is Born’ can steal in it’s opening weekend.
Buzzfeed actually had a Gaga fan confirm it was a coordinated effort to launch a troll campaign. “It’s us Gaga fans creating fake IDs to trash the Venom premiere,” said @LGMonster95. “They both are getting released on the same day, so we want more audience for A Star Is Born.”
I wasn’t sure i’d watch #Venom on opening weekend but now i think i just might go see it twice this weekend, with a bunch of friends and family too. This is pathetic as hell. https://t.co/AE0NAs3Pl7

Beware of fake #Venom movie reviews. There are people trying to promote Lady Gaga's #AStarIsBorn and are fabricating negative reviews. Look out for bots and only trust proper and regular reviewers. pic.twitter.com/v9xznuN5R7

Well this just feels like people on the internet being dumb and over-zealous.
