Organizers of the “Straight Pride Parade” Receive Mysterious Envelopes

Super Happy Fun America, the group that is trying to make the first \”Straight Pride Parade\” happen in Boston, probably expected to receive some negative feedback…So when three of its members opened their mailbox to find strange envelopes with no return address, they contacted the police.

\”I went out to my mailbox and there was an envelope in there with my name and address, no return address, the back was very heavily taped up and when I shook it I heard stuff shaking around inside\” one of the recipients, Samson Racioppi, told CNN.

Officers shut down the street to examine the suspicious package. When they finally opened the mysterious parcel? They found lots of glitter, and a handwritten letter.

An FBI spokesperson has said the agency \”does not believe the packages pose a threat to public safety\”.

The city recently approved the group\’s public event permit, though they have a few more hoops to jump through before they are legally approved to have a parade. According to the permit, they expect about 2,000 people would attend.

In contrast, Chicago\’s pride parade is only the 12th largest annual LGBT event in the world. It has exceeded 1 million attendees every year since 2013.
