Yesterday I got to hang out with some of the best people and animals in Chicago! PAWS is a non-profit, no-kill, shelter that has saved thousands of cats and dogs since it was started by Paula and Alexis Fasseas. In 2018 alone, their organization helped over 5,000 pups and pussy cats find homes.
Mark, a volunteer of 15 years, gave me the grand tour around Dog Town and Kitty City at their Clybourn Ave. location that was opened in 1997. He himself has adopted four pups from PAWS! The facility is top notch and very comfortable for the animals. At the end, I cuddled with two lab mix puppies, Wonda and Wilmer. That’s Wonda in the photo. She’s my new soulmate.
I can’t thank Sarah, Nicole, and Mark from PAWS enough for letting us spread the good word and… letting me ruff-house with some of the puppies.
The hardest part was not being able to take Wilmer home. I’ve already got a big rescue dog, Big Reg!
