Instead of Bulls and Blackhawks games, the United Center is now home to nearly 400 tons of non perishable food now.
The United Center teamed up with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to help them store food inside the stadium allowing workers for the Greater Chicago Food Depository practice social distancing while still being able to feed those who need it.
Photos of an empty arena turned warehouse are shocking.
25,828 boxes. 640 pallets. 774,840 lbs.
Non-perishable food continues to be stored here to free up space in the @FoodDepository warehouse. This helps volunteers practice social distancing while making more food boxes to help feed the community. https://t.co/zqaVAuevSF pic.twitter.com/XY8z1QB68n

Hopefully soon those parcels will be replaced with players and the stands can be filled again!
