The latest Smashing Pumpkins album ‘CYR’ drops on November 27th and we’ve already gotten a solid taste of the 33-song collection with the album title track and several animated music videos but this weekend we got two new tracks from the band. They are both quite different but see the band doing something quite fresh yet still invigorating to longtime fans of the Chicago alternative icons.

‘Wyttch’ is a perfect track for your post-Halloween desires for the creepy and scary side of life. The swerving beat, the thumping bass, and Billy almost casting a spell with the lyrics. It has a very epic feel to get your head bobbing up and down. This could be a really great song to see live with the loud chants and thundering guitar parts.
‘Ramona’ this track sees the Pumpkins embraced the new wavey keyboard-driven synth-pop that they have utilized in the past. It feels like a song we could hear on a Muse album, am I right?! The story of this ‘Ramona’ character also stirs up reminders of the classic Tarantino ‘Kill Bill’ movies minus the sword fights. In a statement issued to the press, the video has a “surreal gothic-western inspired love-story.”
