An auction house says they are going to auction off Ben Zobrist’s World Series ring — but the former Chicago Cub is denying that report through his agent.
A number of media outlets in Chicago used this Tweet as the basis for their story, which broke before the weekend:

But a report in the Kansas City Star says that Scott Pucino, the agent for the now retired player, double checked twice with Zobrist — and denies that he is parting with it. The auction house says they are investigating the private party who claims ownership of the ring. Zobrist filed for divorce from his wife Julianna in 2019.
