No duct-taping passengers, according to a real-life United Airlines memo

Chicago-based air carrier United Airlines apparently had to remind crews in a memo β€” no duct taping of unruly passengers, according to NBC News.

This is not a new policy, it seems, but after two high-profile incidents on both American and Frontier, it seems they felt it necessary to reiterate proper policy:  address situations calmly, deescalate, and refer to the United manual for the approved items to use in incidents where passengers can’t be calmed.

I don’t know about you, but if a grown adult can’t control themselves in a enclosed space at several thousand feet β€” do we really care what tools they use if it gets the job done?  β€” [eric]
