The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has turned off their social media comments for a curious reason: too many people were reporting crime there rather than calling 9-1-1 or submitting tips through their website.

Sheriff Chris Nosco said that the step was taking out of fear that the agency could miss out on “life or death” information.
