It seemed like just yesterday, the White Sox were plotting a move to Nashville. Now, the South Siders are in “serious talks” to leave Guaranteed Rate Field for a new ballpark in the “78th neighborhood” in the South Loop according to Daryl van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times.
While nothing is confirmed at this time, having yet another “Sox on the move rumor” is bad news for those that love Guaranteed Rate. This is yet another tone-deaf maneuver from Jerry Reinsdorf, who seems to hate the very team that he owns.
2023 was a disaster, but 2024 could be far worse if this situation gets ugly.
