Stone Temple Pilots set to return with a new singer

Stone Temple Pilots have been through a lot of hard times in the last few years, with the death of their original singer Scott Weiland in 2015 and the recent passing of their second singer Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington but the band is set up to return on November 14th at the Troubador in Los Angeles, California. The remaining members have been mum on who their new singer could be, and keeping the secrete even more close to the chest, this big comeback show is also an invitation-only event. So who is the new mystery singer? Thanks to Consequences of Sound for the scoop.

Speaking to Rolling Stone last month, bassist Robert DeLeo teased what’s to come with this yet-to-be-revealed singer  “We’ve been working with someone – I don’t want to name names yet – and we’re making music. I don’t know if he’s well-known or unknown; I don’t look at him as ‘well-known.’ But we’re writing music and we’re hopefully looking at finishing a record and putting it out soon.”

Weiland was dismissed from STP in 2013, with Bennington stepping in before leaving amicably citing the challenges of the balancing act of performing in STP, Linkin Park, and being with his family. STP recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of their debut album, Core.
