Pearl Jam’s second album Vs. was released 25 years ago today (October 19, 1993)
The album was supposed to be called Five Against One (a lyric from “Animal”) and the sheep on the album cover was from a Hamilton, Montana farm and (according to Jeff Ament) represented the band’s state of mind when making the now classic album.
So many great tracks: (Daughter, Glorified G, Animal, Go, Dissident, Elderly Woman… and Rearviewmirror). Pearl Jam refused to make videos for any of them.
Vs set a then industry record by selling more than 950,000 copies in its first five days.
