When the owner’s grandparents arrived from the Old World, they brought with them a lifetime of prized, traditional recipes. Armed with these family secrets and a desire to provide authentic Jewish meals, they established The Bagel in 1950 as a premier ethnic eatery. Since opening, the restaurant has moved twice, but the owners of The Bagel are proud to carry on their family heritage in Lakeview East. The Bagel offers traditional Jewish dishes, fresh bagels, catering packages, special holiday menus, and more.
