The ticket was sold July 29 in suburban Des Plaines. Now what happens? They have 12 months to collect, and can remain anonymous. But the deadline that’s more important, is HOW they want the money. The “Winner’s Handbook” states that – “Lotto, Mega Millions and Powerball winners have 60 days after the date of the drawing to choose the cash option or annual payments.” The winner has a little over two weeks to decide now, then if they don’t, the annuity option is what is going to happen!
