Schaumburg wants to give you $150 to combat inflation

Village trustee in Schaumburg met this week to discuss the possibility of a $150 rebate for its citizens as a way to fight back against inflation in the coming year. The payments were proposed by Mayor Tom Dailly, and the funding comes during an $18.4 million surplus in the village’s general fund. More than 18,000 would qualify for these checks if it were go to happen as currently planned.

Payments are still pending a formal approval, which is expected to happen during the next village board meeting on January 10.
