Tanya Herbert, who is the Guinness World Record book for having the largest feet in the world for a female, has finally found a pair of heels to fit and its thanks to a Chicago store. Herbert is 6’9″ and has been using men’s shoes for most of her life. “I was using men’s shoes and trying to manipulate them and modifying them and doing different things in order to try to have feminine shoes.”

After sharing her struggles of shopping, someone reached out to Mohop, a Rockford-and-Chicago-based shoe store. The company has long tried to make more “inclusive” footwear, including shoes for trans women. The store had never made a shoe that big before, but after some crafty work, they were able to build a four-inch heel that makes Herbert over seven feet tall.

The heels are just the beginning of a larger collaboration between Mohop and Herbert.

Mohop’s West Town boutique is open 12-7 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays.
