Steve Albini, the legendary record producer and engineer behind Nirvana’s In Utero, Pixies’ Surfer Rosa among other classic History Of Alternative albums, has died of a heart attack. He was 61 years old.
Albini was born in Pasadena, California in 1962. He went to Northwestern University in Evanston and spent most of his career based here in Chicago, where he founded Electrical Audio.
