Chicago Police on the lookout for Sinead O’Connor due to suicide threats

Irish singer Sinead O’Connor has reportedly threatened to commit suicide somewhere in Chicago according multiple reports including the Chicaog Sun-Times. O’Conoor dissappeared from a Wilmette home she was living in for a 24-hour period in May amid similar concerns about an a suicide attempt but was later found by local authorities.

Sun-Times quoted an alert that broadcasted on Chicago Police scanners about officers being on a lookout for the singer.

“All units stand by for the All Call message. …Word from Ireland police Sergeant Claire Mulligan, Dublin, Irleand, is saying that at 15:30 hours Sinead O’Connor called and said ‘I’m on a bridge in Chicago and I’m going to jump’. If officers could keep an eye out for the celebrity.”

O’Connor is most well known for her emotional 1990 hit “Nothing Compares 2 U” which was written originally by Prince. She has continued to produce music and tour behind 10 albums in her career since.
