Disney’s first ever Marvel theme park ride in America ‘Guardians of the Galaxy : Mission Breakout’ opened this past weekend at Disneyland’s California Adeventure with much fanfare and high demand. Thanks to Youtube channel ThemeParkHD we have this first-hand look at the actually ride with the immersive holding area featuring outer-space creatures, appearances by the Gauridan characters,a rocking soundtrack, and an engaging story to the whole experience. It’s neat to see an animatronic Rocket Racoon spitting off wise-cracks. The whole ride looks really fun with well-crafted show of the fun of the ‘Guardians’ movies. Another fascinating part is that parts of the ride are relatively different during each individual romp making it more attractive to get back in line for another go.
As for the lines for the ride, that’s probably the only negative part to share. According to Gizmodo and many posts on social media by Disneyland guests, the line for ‘Mission Breakout’ had an estimated wait of seven hours without a fast pass. The fast pass line was not significantly better with a reported wait time of five hours on Saturday.

The new ride has angered some Disney fanatics who were not fond of the new Marvel themed ride replacing the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror that stood in the same structure until recently. Still it seems like the Marvel Cinematic Universe under the ownership of Disney was bound to get some theme park love, and this looks like a great start. ‘Gaurdians’ director James Gunn who contributed to the ride’s development, had a very fun time at the ride’s premiere based on his Facebook post about it.
Inside the Magic conducted an interview with Disneyland imagineer Joe Rohde who gave insight what went into creating the ride and adapting the story for a theme park attraction.
