MILFS, DZNUTZ, and POOPSY top list of banned IL license plates

A list of personalized license plates rejected by Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias has surfaced. These plates have been rejected because of some combination of profanity, offensive language or illegibility.

According to the secretary of state’s office, some of the rejected plate requests this year include terms like: MILFS, WOOPASS, POOPSY, DZNUTZ and IOWASUX.

The ever-growing rejection list stands at more than 7,674 license plate combinations deemed offensive or difficult to read.

White Sox pivot away from SoxFest, offer party for season ticket holders

Days after the announcement of the Cubs Convention, the White Sox have finally made some noise about what they’re going to offer their fans this offseason. Instead of offering SoxFest to their loyal fans, they will be offering a party for their season ticket holders.

In essence, they don’t want to face their fans.

The date, which takes place on a Friday (because Jerry probably wanted to save money…), will be the one time that Sox fans can “celebrate” before Opening Day.

While the Cubs promise autograph sessions, panel discussions with Cubs legends, players, and coaches, and so much more, the Sox will give their fans an afternoon of what we assume is warm shrimp and bad hot dogs.

Dolton mayor strikes again as taxpayer-funded billboard campaign launches

Dolton mayor Tiffany Henyard is the gift that keeps on giving. Earlier this year, we discussed her reckless spending of city finances as Ben Bradley from WGN News grilled her in a way that most contemporary journalists can only dream of.

For better or worse, she is the gift that keeps on giving.

Fox 32 has gotten to the bottom of her new billboard campaign that was funded via taxpayer money. Four billboards featuring Tiffany Henyard’s name in large letters, along with her picture, smiling down on the thousands of cars going by on Interstate 57 and the Bishop Ford Expressway. This isn’t the first time Henyard has used tax dollars to burnish her own personal image. In fact, on other occasions, she’s spent a lot more.

As this story continues to develop, we will have all of the information you need on the continued journey of Mayor Tiffany Henyard.

Bears find a new, humbling way to lose as playoff hopes vanish in Cleveland

Why can’t we have nice things?

Yesterday was yet another tough day to be a Bears fan, although the suffering was reserved for the last few minutes of the game, rather than the entirety. Chicago led through three quarters and appeared to have enough left in the tank to outlast the injury-prone Browns. Then, the Bears happened.

After a deep pass to tight-end David Njoku, the Browns drilled a field goal for the go-ahead points.

With a chance to either tie or win the game, the Bears marched down the field and on the final play of the game, nearly completed a Hail Mary that would’ve put the Bears in playoff contention. Instead, wide receiver Darnell Mooney caught the ball and then fumbled it in the endzone.

The Bears now sit at 5-9 on the season.

It’s cheaper to get divorced in Illinois than most other places in the country

Not everyone marries their soulmate. In fact, nearly half of marriages in this country end with hatred. The odds are not strongly in your favor. The good news is that if you’re reading this and you’re looking to call it quits, Illinois is one of the best places to get divorced in the entire country. Whereas places like California, New York, and Oregon make getting separated a pricey endeavor, Illinois ranks 39th in the country when it comes to the price of divorce.

The least expensive states to legally dissolve a marriage are in the middle of the country, with Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa as the cheapest.

Man shot in testicles by ex-girlfriend, lives to tell about it

A man in Cincinnati was shot in the testicles by his ex-girlfriend while they were attempting to go for a walk.

Charlie Glenn said that, “[She] wanted me to take a walk with her, and I found out she had a pistol with her,” Glenn claims. “She said it was a pellet gun, and I said, ‘Let me see it because I’m not going anywhere with you if you got a gun,’ and she pulled it out and shot me.’”

He continued, “I still to this day love her, and if she ever gets better, well…”
