It was pretty apparent at PIQNIQ that Chelsea Lee of Shaed has an incredible voice. Here’s further proof from when the band stopped by PASTE Studios and knocked out this cover of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy. Check this out! -wALT

If you are friends and family are not coming outside on the 4th of July for fireworks and grilling, they are likely inside watching the new season of Stranger Things on Netflix. The anticipated third season of the coming-of-age sci-fi show drops the same day. It sounds like a great way to celebrate our country’s independence by watching telepathic pre-teens fight inter-dimensional monsters in a mall in Indiana.
The early reviews are quite positive too!
Gizmodo says the following:
Stranger Things 3 may spin its wheels to get where it’s going, but it lights a fire once it gets there. The season is flawed but solid, and we hope it’s not another two years before we see part four. If it is, who knows how big the kids are going to be, both on screen and off. And we mean that literally. They are growing very, very fast. Will is taller than Joyce this year!
Here is what IGN had to say about it:
Blink-182 recently dropped a new single ‘Blame It On My Youth’ to tease a yet-to-be-titled album coming soon. Well today they release another fresh track called ‘Happy Days’. It has big echo driven vocal with Mark Hoppus demanding a more positive life following some undisclosed frustration.
Blink will headline Riot Fest 2019 with a special set feature a complete performance of their classic album ‘Enema of the State’. Win your way into that here.
In recent Blinky news, the band dedicated a song at a recent show to former member Tom DeLonge and it seemingly relates to his active UFO research.
I am in awe at people who can successfully pull off the one man full band covers. This one is excellent by Tijs Primo and it just so happens to be my favorite H song; Local H’s Fine and Good. Enjoy!

A woman was shopping at a Wichita Falls Walmart in Texas and demanded that she’d only be paying half price for her cake as only half of the cake was present.
It seems fair enough if half the cake was actually missing, so what’s the issue? She was the one who ate half of the cake!
The woman refused to pay full price for the cake at the check out even though she was eating it the whole time.
After the encounter at the register, the woman refused to leave the Walmart as they did not grant her the desired discount and police had to escort her off the Walmart property.
As a result of her bold shenanigans, she is now banned from entering any Walmart.
It just does with the saying “you break it you buy it”, but in this case, it’s “you eat it you buy it.”
A few weeks ago Justin Bieber challenged Tom Cruise to a cage match via twitter and the internet laughed about it.
I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?
— Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) June 10, 2019
However, Steve-O is looking to make this a reality and he wants a piece of the Biebs too!
In a recent video interview, Steve-O talked about how if the fight does not happen between Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise, he will proudly step in the ring to fight Justin Bieber.
In the interview, he playfully challenges Bieber saying to Justin Bieber, “I think you’ve been picking a fight with the wrong guy. Tom Cruise might be fifty-six, but, hey, I’m 45!”
Steve-O was so eager to make get in the cage with Justin that he drove to Las Vegas to meet with UFC president who promised him that if Tom Cruise doesn’t accept, Steve-O will take his place. They even shook on it!
Dana White has even been communicating in talks with Tom Cruises people and Justin Bieber’s too, to make this fight a reality.
Steve-O didn’t say if he can beat the Biebs, but he did say he knows he can take a beating for sure.
Either way, Justin Bieber might be fighting someone in the cage soon!
Hawks fan YouTuber Clay Schlegel covers today’s big news
Andrew Shaw who captured two Stanley Cups as a young breakout star with the Chicago Blackhawks, is returning to the team in a trade with the Montreal Canadians. Shaw will once again be a BlackHawks, in exchange for a seventh round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft from the Canadiens in exchange for a second round pick in the 2020 draft, a seventh round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, and a third round pick in the 2021 draft.
Shaw had a strong first run in Chicago scoring scored 70 goals and notching 67 assists.
It was not an easy trade when the Hawks let Shawzy go, and GM Stan Bowman let that be known three years ago. So this reunion feels good, now let’s get back in the playoff hunt next year!
We are halfway through 2019. Just in time for new laws and taxes! Here are the changes that will be taking place in the Land of Lincoln starting on Monday, July 1st. (Not going to lie, some of these are going to hurt.)
Sorry, that’s a lot of “digging into your wallet” news. And I know a lot of you think some of these new regulations are dumb. But are they as weird or dumb as these laws that are allegedly on the books (thanks, Pantagraph).

The fans of Blink-182 have for years now speculated about any potential of Tom DeLonge returning the trio, as they march on with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba gracefully joining the band prior to their 2016 album ‘California’. Well the Blnk boys keep Tom in the hearts no matter what, as they dedicated a performance of the deep cut ‘Aliens Exist’ at a show this weekend to their former band member. The song choice is interesting as DeLonge as been seriously active with To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences, an organization he formed to study UFO’s and extraterrestrial life. He even produced a TV show for the History Channel about U.S. government investigation involving UFO’s.
Delonge conducted an interview in May in anticipation of his band Angels & Airwaves putting out new music and touring again, where he stated he would eventually return to Blink “in the future”.
Mark Hoppus cleared the air on that, saying that was not exactly the current direction of things.
Here are videos pulled up by Alternative Press from last night’s Blink show in Hartford featuring the dedication, and showing off the band’s big new stage for their current tour with Lil’ Wayne. Blink will headline Riot Fest in September in Chicago’s Douglas Park, you can win your way in here.
I’ll do my best to summarize this crazy crime story.
Last week, police in Alabama investigated a tip that a man was keeping a “methamphetamine-fueled attack squirrel” in his apartment. But that 35 year old man — Mickey Paulk — got tipped about the raid and had bailed. Here, by the way, is video of the squirrel:
While on the run from police to dodge unrelated weapons/drug charges, Paulk took to the internet — and the frickin’ Washington Post — to deny that while the animal was very aggressive, he would never feed his beloved pet squirrel a powerful stimulant like meth.
The squirrel’s name, by the way, is “Deeznuts.” Because of course it is.
When cops finally caught up to Paulk on Thursday, he tried to flee on a motorcycle and ended up ramming an investigator’s vehicle. He was booked into jail on numerous felony charges. As for the squirrel? Released into the wild by the police, as it is illegal to keep one as a pet.
Isn’t this how zombie movie 28 Days Later started? Rage-filled squirrels? — [eric]

A Tokyo Zoo has gone viral with a AP News video featuring their unintentionally hilarious practice drill of what they would in a situation where a polar bear would escape, and of course they had to have someone in a polar bear costume. They should have just hired our very own Piqniq Bear, he would do it for beer and microwaved salmon.
The person playing this particular polar bear is very committed. AV Club compared him to acclaimed actors Daniel Day Lewis and Christian Bale, in terms of his dedication as a person playing the role of polar bear in big silly costume.
Here are some of the best moments from our own care bear, Piqniq Bear!

Props to Meg Myers, who had a bunch of kids — 2,130 students of a non-profit in L.A., to be exact — color in individual frames of the music video for “Running Up That Hill.” They are then photographed in rapid sequence —- and the result is probably one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a while. Enjoy. — [eric]
Disney has been on a wave of taking from their classic animated films and giving them fresh live action takes with “Cinderella’, ‘Beauty and the Beast”, and most recently ‘Aladdin’ all hitting theaters. Now the one animated movie that won the heart of almost any grade school aged girl in the early 90’s ‘the Little Mermaid’ is about make a splash into live action with news today of a big casting for the film. Melissa McCarthy is in talks according to ComingSoon.net, for the role of the villainous Ursula in the film.
McCarthy who grew up in Plainfield, went on to play ‘Sookie’ in the ‘Gilmore Girls’ and the CBS sitcom ‘Mike & Molly. McCarthy also won over millions with her comedic performance in films like ‘Bridesmaids’. In 2015, McCarthy received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Her hosting spots on ‘SNL’ in the last few years have been fantastic too.
She also likes bedazzled cat sweaters!
