Dairy Queen is ready for summer. Despite the continuous chilly temperatures, the ice cream superstore will be dropping prices on their irresistible Blizzards to celebrate new and returning flavors.
According to a release, in honor of blizzards being invented in 1985, customers can snag one of the iconic sweets for 85 cents via the chain’s app from April 10 to 23.
Substitute teacher overpaid by $54K, refused to return money: is she a jerk?
A woman working for Stamford Public Schools in Stamford, Connecticut is under fire after being overpaid $54,000 and refusing to return the money. At the time, the woman was working as a substitute teacher with an hourly rate of $105. During the pay period of Oct. 31, 2022 and Nov. 13, 2022, police say the substitute worked two days and was mistakenly paid $27,300 per day by the City of Stamford Payroll department, which, after taxes, totaled $27,111.03.
The teacher and the school district came up with a plan for the money to be returned, but on that day, the woman never showed. Authorities say the results found the balance of the account at $19,863.89 on Feb. 8, which police immediately seized. The woman was charged with larceny in the first degree.

The incident occurred on a bunny hill while the actress was in the midst of a $9,000 ski lesson. Since the injuries, the optometrist noted that he can no longer enjoy wine tasting.

According to research done by our friends at MIBets.com, the Cubs and Wrigley Field is the tenth-most expensive home opener, while the White Sox first game at Guaranteed Rate Field comes as the 15th highest in the league. This was determined by looking at the price of both parking and food and beer on Opening Day.
Adults will spend roughly $91.98 for a ticket, parking, a beer & hot dog when attending Opening Day at Wrigley Field on Thursday. For the Sox, whose home opener is April 3 against the Giants, those prices will clock in at about $73.75.

6 deceased in Nashville school shooting, 129th mass shooting of 2023
On March 27, a mass shooting occurred at The Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee. Surveillance video shows the shooter shot their way into the campus. Three children, as well as three adult staff members, were killed. Police noted two officers entered the building, ran toward the sound of gunfire, approached the suspect on the second floor of the school, and fatally shot them.

TSA rules peanut butter a liquid, causes social media uproar
Not that anyone should be looking to bring a big jar of peanut butter on a commercial flight, but if you had dreams of digging into a tub of Jif while up in the sky, TSA has other ideas for you. The agency announced on Twitter that peanut butter is considered a liquid, thus requiring travelers to use the “travel size” option if they choose to fly with peanut butter.
When asked if the peanut butter was smeared on a sandwich, TSA replied,
So as you can see, nothing really makes sense here.
Peanut butter, a smooth ingredient with a definitive shape, is considered a liquid, and everything you thought you knew is a lie.
Algonquin woman crushes her American Idol audition
Kaerya, a woman from Algonquin, took American Idol by storm this week with her incredible audition. The daughter of Polish immigrants, Kaeyra grew up singing at her mom’s music school in Schaumburg and has since made an impact in the local music scene.
Her success is credited to her Polish parents, “It’s the reason why I’m so hardworking: seeing how hard they are working, coming from Poland and making their own businesses, and just making it work, learning the language along the way. Just seeing their work ethic and making connections.”

100 drummers play “My Hero” to honor Taylor Hawkins on first anniversary of his death
Get ready to cry.
Days before March 25, the first anniversary of the passing of Taylor Hawkins, 100 drummers gathered with Belgian rock band Black Box Revelation, and together, they played “My Hero” in an effort to honor Hawkins.
The Foo Fighters will return to the road soon, with the legacy of Taylor Hawkins feeling like an honorary member of the band.
Uranus will be visible tomorrow night
This is huge, folks. Uranus, alongside Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury, will be visible in the night sky on March 28.
Venus will be the easiest planet to see, while unfortunately, Uranus will be the most difficult to see. Per WGN, “Uranus might be the most difficult to identify without a telescope or binoculars. It will appear faint, looking very similar to a star.”
That sounds about right.

Cubs announce a number of changes to Wrigley Field in an effort to compete with superior Guaranteed Rate Field
Is this a sign that the Cubs are desperate to attract fans? The 2016 World Series Champions (who have been awfully quiet ever since) have made a number of improvements to Wrigley Field over the off-season. When fans roll into Wrigley on Thursday for Opening Day, they can expect new things such as a trophy room, new LED lights, additional food options, and more.
Small Cheval burgers will be sold in the bleachers starting with Opening Day. You’ll also see Crispy Chicken Bao Buns, Greek Loaded Fries, Burger Brat, Crispy Chicken Torta, and Quesabirria. The team will also be offering 26-ounce souvenir “Beer Bats” at a few concession stands around the park.
Mrs. O’Leary’s Plow, Sleet Home Chicago, among winners in Chicago’s ‘Name a Snowplow Contest’
The mayoral race isn’t the only election taking over the city. After months of waiting, Chicago’s Department of Streets and Sanitation (DSS) announced the snowplows with their new names on Friday morning.
The seven snowplow names that have been added to snowplows in the city are,
