8-year-old Molly Morris, someone who captured the hearts of Brian & Justin and all of Chicagoland in May 2021 when she was diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer, has passed away.
Morris will be remembered for her infectious spirit and the #MollyStrong campaign that took Chicago by storm. In a statement written by her parents, they said, “The void of Molly Grace will be felt on a million levels for us and thousands of people. Molly united strangers and whole communities like nobody before her. She showed the world how much love and kindness exists,” Erin Morris wrote. “We will never, ever let a day go by without mentioning her name or rehashing a hilarious Molly story. We promised her we wouldn’t let anyone forget her, ever. We also promised her we would fight like hell for all the other children and families.”
With 11 bodies of young men being pulled out of Lake Michigan recently, it’s impossible to ignore the growing rumor that there is a serial killer on the loose. The National Desk news outlet recently spoke to Karen Conti, who represented John Wayne Gacy during his death row appeals. She said, “Nobody’s talking about it but it’s an astounding amount of men and it could be as many as 15 men in a period of just over a year.” She continued, “Days later, they are found in either the lake or the river…and this is now being tied to what they called ‘The Smiley Face Killers,’ and I urge your viewers to Google that. That’s somewhere between 45 and 200 young men, who have disappeared all over the country in the same exact way. and they’re saying that there’s a possibility that there is a killer or group of killers who are doing this in a ritualistic fashion. We don’t know those facts yet, but it’s something we really need to watch.”

Paramore played to a sold-out Grand Ole Opry in Nashville for their “This Is Why” album release show. Their sixth studio album is set to be released on February 10, but Paramore gave their hometown fans a treat during the blistering 90-minute set, debuting “Running Out of Time” as a part of the band’s three-song encore.
“It’s not that deep…unless you want to think about the planet dying,” explained front-woman Hayley Williams before launching into the post-punk number.

Jessica Nesbitt, known better by her working name “Madame Priscilla Belle”, has pled guilty to conspiracy for her work tied to her West Side business Kink Extraordinaries. Her attorneys said her 9,000 clients included people holding “positions of prestige in the community, including in law enforcement and government.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Erika Csicsila told the judge that the conspiracy lasted from September 2010 until Jan. 11, 2017. The prosecutor said Nesbitt had multiple employees who traveled to San Diego, Miami, Las Vegas and Wisconsin to perform acts of prostitution. Nesbitt and her employees accepted more than $1 million in cash or debit, credit and gift cards, the prosecutor said. Kink Extraordinaires has been described as “the premier Dungeon of Chicago.” Its website said it offered “beautiful, psychologically sophisticated Kinksters” who “play out of a private five-floor dungeon with multiple, fully equipped themed rooms.”
Nesbitt’s sentencing hearing is set for May 3. She faces a maximum of five years in prison, but there is a disagreement among the lawyers as to how much time she should face under federal sentencing guidelines.

Tanya Herbert, who is the Guinness World Record book for having the largest feet in the world for a female, has finally found a pair of heels to fit and its thanks to a Chicago store. Herbert is 6’9″ and has been using men’s shoes for most of her life. “I was using men’s shoes and trying to manipulate them and modifying them and doing different things in order to try to have feminine shoes.”
After sharing her struggles of shopping, someone reached out to Mohop, a Rockford-and-Chicago-based shoe store. The company has long tried to make more “inclusive” footwear, including shoes for trans women. The store had never made a shoe that big before, but after some crafty work, they were able to build a four-inch heel that makes Herbert over seven feet tall.
The heels are just the beginning of a larger collaboration between Mohop and Herbert.
Mohop’s West Town boutique is open 12-7 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays.
Naps, more than food or “riffing”, rule the lives of Brian & Justin. Luckily for us, our friends at Inc have figured out the perfect way to nap and it’s called the 30-90 Rule. Naps are great for you. They help with memory, health, and productivity, but sometimes naps leave you more drained than before. NASA has found that 26 minutes is the perfect length for a nap, which helped the 30-90 Rule come into existence.
However, if you are looking to snooze for longer, Boston Globe recommends, “Naps of 90 to 120 minutes usually comprise all stages, including REM and deep slow-wave sleep, which helps to clear your mind, improve memory recall, and recoup lost sleep.”
So as a general rule of thumb, if you’re going to lay down in the middle of the day, it should be shorter than 30 minutes or longer than 90 minutes.
Before you enjoy a baseball game under the warm sun this summer, remember that Justin is asking you to stop eating hot dogs.
In 2011, the World Health Organization (WHO) concluded that processed meat of any kind was a Class 1 carcinogen (the same classification as cigarettes). If a person eats 3.5 ounces (the size of one jumbo hot dog) of processed meat every day, their risk of colorectal cancer will be 36% higher than someone who eats no processed meat. If they eat 7.0 ounces of processed meat every day (49 ounces per week), their risk will be 72% higher.

‘The Chosen One’ has done it. Faced with more pressure than perhaps any other athlete in history, LeBron James once again reminded people that he has lived up to the hype by breaking Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s scoring record, once thought to be an impossible record to break. James put up 38 points in a heroic effort against Oklahoma City, only to lose in defeat thanks to the lumbering oafs that James has surrounded himself with.
The King now sits atop the throne, ahead of Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan, respectively.

2,000 adults were recently polled and asked when the most stressful time of the day was. Because of morning commutes, whether they be your own on your way to work or getting children to school, has shown that the most stressful time of the day is 7:23am. The poll found that adults face about three stressful events every day. They occur about an hour earlier in women than men.

A recent MoneyGeek poll has found that two Chicagoland hotbeds are some of the safest cities in America. Naperville, home to just shy of 150,000 citizens, was named the safest city in all of the country. “The Dirty J” Joliet, who narrowly edges them out in population, finished seven spots behind them. According to the publication, the ranking looked at “standardized crime statistics reported to the FBI” in 2021. That data was then analyzed with the population of each city to determine crime rates per 100,000 people.
Midwest cities like Detroit, Milwaukee, and St. Louis found their way onto the 15 Most Dangerous Cities list. Chicago ranked on neither list.
Does this poll accurately represent the feelings of those in Naperville? The conversation lives on Facebook!

A spokesperson for USPS said, “Postal Inspectors and Chicago Police have launched an investigation this morning into which individual(s) possessed Postal property at that downtown hotel room, how they came into its possession, and what specific criminal activity they may have used it for.”
