Matty Healy, consent king, checks fan’s ID before granting her her first kiss

Matty Healy has had quite the tour. Besides headlining a raucous Twisted Xmas event, Healy has consumed raw meat on stage, got a tattoo on stage, and now has continued his trend of kissing people on stage, this time giving a lucky fan her first kiss.

Healy checked a woman’s ID in Minneapolis before planting a smooch on her. Haters, losers, and dorks have criticized The 1975 frontman for his theatrics, but we don’t think there’s anything sexier than making sure that everyone is of age before making a move on them.

Take THAT, porch pirates — former NASA engineer releases GlitterBomb 5.0

Photo: Pexels/Alexander Grey

Package theft is up 87% this month, year over year. Porch pirates are the WORST, man. That’s why I’ve always enjoyed former NASA engineer Mark Rober‘s annual GlitterBomb videos — giving us all a chance to revel in the misfortunes of thieves opening up a booby-trapped package. However, this will be the LAST year of the video, so enjoy.

Chicago wants the Internet to name six new snowplows

Photo: Pexels/Vishal Shah

The City of Chicago has asked the Internet to name six of it’s new snowplows…and I can’t possibly see this backfiring on them in anyway possible.

The You Name A Snowplow contest is up and running right now. Phase 1 is an open acceptance of names, until January 6th or until they receive 20,000 entries — which ever comes first. The second phase will be a vote based upon 50 entries chosen by the Department of Streets & Sanitation.

Let’s see how much of sense of humor government has. You can enter the contest here.

‘8 hot moms, 8 young men, and 1 shocking twist’: MILF Manor comes to TLC on January 15

TLC (which stands for The Learning Channel, mind you) has a new show coming to its airwaves. “MILF Manor”, in which “eight hot moms leave home for the chance to find love with men half their age, but they’re greeted with a shocking twist”, will premiere on January 15 for the network that has housed the likes of “Jon & Kate Plus Eight” and “Little People, Big World”.

No one is certain as to what the shocking surprise is, but doesn’t it seem like the young men are all related to them somehow?

Reports are circulating that Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy are shaking in their boots.

Lori Lightfoot is blocking your access to the Chicago police scanner

Mayor Lori Lightfoot is defending her decision to encrypt police radio transmissions, a move that will block the public from listening in real time. Lightfoot has faced intense scrutiny from media organizations who rely on these transmissions to do their job. They’ve also raised concerns over civilian safety in times of crisis.

Lightfoot has defended her decision by using Fast & Furious logic, noting, “If it’s unencrypted and there’s access, there’s no way to control criminals who are also gonna get access, listen in and adjust their criminal behavior in response to the information that’s being communicated.”

A media coalition has asked to meet with Lightfoot in person numerous times to discuss this issue. Lightfoot has rejected these requests.

Brian & Justin’s on-the-ground city hall reporter has noted that Lightfoot is irate with them reading the Chicago Police Scanner on Monday’s and is looking for a way to make her city look less embarrassing.

There’s a kid that’s 5’11” with a mustache claiming to be 12 and he’s dominating youth football

If you thought your kid was special, he’s not. Jeremiah Johnson, a supposed 12-year-old from Fort Worth, Texas, however, is special. Johnson has gone viral for having a mustache, being nearly 6 feet tall, and still only being 12-years-old, allegedly. The athlete became a viral sensation after a photo of him sporting what appeared to be facial hair and a tattoo surfaced on social media following the 2022 Youth National Championships over the weekend in Miami, where he was crowned MVP.

His mother took to Facebook to say, “Before I lay down I just want y’all to know…. my baby going viral. These folks is going in… SO…. Yes he’s on 12U (he meets ALL of the requirements. No the tattoo isn’t real (duh). Yes the goatee is tho.”

Nothing on the books (yet?) for Chicago. Some video from their stop in The Lounge a few years ago.

It took eight years and an extra $200 million, but the Jane Byrne Interchange is nearly complete

Initially scheduled to take five years and cost $535 million, we are eight years and $793 million deep into construction on the Jane Byrd Interchange, but things are finally coming to an end. According to officials, all four lanes on the interchange are now open. New changes include two northbound Kennedy entrance ramps from Adams to Jackson Streets, as well as wider ramps from eastbound I-290 onto the Kennedy and Dan Ryan Expressway. Only two construction projects are still outstanding.

Optimists claim that this construction will bring a 50% reduction in motorist delays.

10 new laws are coming to Illinois in 2023

Our friends at NBC 5 have rounded up 10 new laws that are taking place at the start of the new year. These are changes to expect on January 1, 2023.

End of Cash Bail

Under the provisions of the bill, as passed by the General Assembly, the state will allow judges to determine whether individuals accused of a specific set of felonies and violent misdemeanors pose a risk to another individual, or to the community at large. Judges will also be asked to determine whether the defendant poses a flight risk if released.

CROWN Act

The Create a Respectful and Open Workplace for Natural Hair Act, also known as the CROWN Act, is an amendment to the Illinois Human Rights Act and aims to further combat discrimination in the state. According to the General Assembly, the bill “provides that ‘race,’ as used in the Employment Article, includes traits historically associated with race, including, but not limited to, hair texture and protective hairstyles such as braids, locks, and twists.”

New Student School Helpline

Passed in May, the Student Confidential Reporting Act, establishes a program where officials from schools, the state and Illinois State Police can receive reports and other information regarding the potential harm or self-harm of students or school employees. The Safe2Help helpline will involve a toll-free telephone number and other means of communication allowing messages and information to be given to operators. Details on the helpline can be found here.

Apprenticeship and Internship Pilot Program

The Act to the Job Training Assistance and Support Services Pilot Program Act will create a five-year pilot program aimed at offering assistance and support services, like transportation help or child care subsidies, to eligible people who may have otherwise struggled to complete an apprenticeship or internship.

Task Force on Missing and Murdered Chicago Women Act

This new law will create a task force that will examine “the systemic causes behind violence that Chicago women and girls experience.” It also will look at “appropriate methods for tracking and collecting data on violence against Chicago women and girls, including data on missing and murdered Chicago women and girls” and will create new policies and practices “that impact violence against Chicago women and girls and the investigation and prosecution of crimes of gender-related violence against Chicago residents.”

Sports License Plate Changes

Under new Illinois Vehicle Code, the Secretary of State will be required to offer those seeking professional sports teams license plates the option to display the logo of the Chicago Sky, Chicago Fire or the Chicago Red Stars. It also removes the option to add the logo of the St. Louis Rams.

Single-Use Plastics

This law “prohibits the procurement and use of single-use plastic disposable foodware at State parks and natural areas.” And state agency or institution of higher education contract prioritizes bids that offer compostable or recyclable foodware.

Illinois’ New State Snake

Under an amendment to the state’s Designation Act, the Eastern Milksnake will become the official snake of the state of Illinois.

New Smoke Detector Rules

Beginning Jan. 1, the state’s Smoke Detector Act will be changed to state that any smoke detectors must have a “self-contained, non-removable, long term battery.” The change was approved in 2017, but did not take effect until Jan. 1, 2023.

Latex Glove Ban Act

Beginning Jan. 1, any food service establishment will be required to ban latex gloves in the preparation and handling of food. It also prohibits such gloves by emergency personnel. Health care workers will be required to ban the gloves after Jan. 1, 2024.

L.A. police office caught having sex on the job over police radio

A rookie deputy is under investigation in Los Angeles over a hot mic picking up her hot action. The audio, which was first reported by TMZ, seems to paint the picture of a woman having sex in her squad car while on duty at Men’s Central Jail.

LASD tells TMZ the agency has launched an internal investigation to find out more about the incident, not to mention whether the man heard on the audio was also a cop and if he, too, was on the clock. Potential punishments could range from a suspension to a firing.

Rockford bar says victims of domestic violence are not welcome

Mulligan’s Pub & Grill in Rockford is under fire after a man was photographed in front of a chalkboard sign that read, “If you have an O/P (order of protection) against your ex – he’s welcome. Your not.” The picture has been spread on social media, notably by the Women’s March Rockford Facebook page, who said, “The owner of Mulligan’s in Rockford made the decision to pose with this sign, which condones domestic violence, and then allegedly post it to the business page. We have no tolerance for anyone or any business that promotes, condones, or makes light of domestic violence. There is no valid argument as to why this is acceptable in any kind of way. We hope that the owner contacts the family peace center and allows them to educate him on the statistics of domestic violence and how it not only impacts individuals, but also entire communities.”

The bar responded on Facebook by saying, “First of all, we are sorry for anyone that is offended… In no way do we advocate domestic violence or minimize O/P’s significance… we apologize for the choice of words and absolutely do not support this statement in any way.”

They went on to claim that the signage was “meant for a specific person” who would visit the bar and had an O/P against a “regular” at the establishment.

Pornhub’s 2022 data is out and Illinois, you have a lot of explaining to do

After months and months of extensive research from the Q101 Morning Crew, we finally have the year-end totals of what people are pleasuring themselves to.

The words “blowjob,” “cosplay” and “trans” saw considerable search growth in 2022, while “transgender” exploded in popularity to become America’s fourth-most-viewed category overall.

“Dirty talk”? What does that even sound like from a Chicagoan, “Ope, gonna have sex with you”?

19th Annual KT’s Kids Toy Drive/Benefit

KT’s Kids is one of my absolute favorite local charities. They raise money for the patients of KidsRehab at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, ranging in age from infants to teens. Schwab is in North Lawndale and is one of only two rehabilitation hospitals in Chicago. Most of their kids come from the lowest socioeconomic communities in Chicago.

Love these kids!

The Schwab multidisciplinary KidsRehab staff, including physical, occupational, speech and psychological therapists, help children gain their maximum functional independence after illness or injury. Their medical director, Dr. Lisa Thornton, is one of the world’s preeminent pediatric rehabilitation specialists. The team at Schwab designs a treatment plan tailored to the unique needs of each child. To assure continued progress even after a patient has been discharged, KidsRehab maintains ongoing contact with families and the child to help provide smooth transitions; whether back home, to school, or with ongoing therapy.

The KT’s Kids Holiday Toy Drive and Benefit is their biggest fundraiser of the year. It allows the organization to throw the kids of KidsRehab a holiday party to give them all of the donations they’ve raised each year. And they invite all of the children in the household, not just patients. Every child gets two gifts (one fun, one practical), and each family gets a $20 Target gift card. The children play adaptive games, have pizza and cookies, and most importantly, they meet Santa!

Me with KT and Santa at Schwab for last year’s holiday party

In summer, they support C.A.M.P. Schwab. C.A.M.P. (Children with Adapted Mobility Play) it’s a free summer day camps for kids with disabilities in Cook County. They provide camp for almost forty kids, aged 7–18, who receive services at Schwab, La Rabida or Shriner’s Hospital, including transportation, activities, and a closing picnic to celebrate. C.A.M.P. Schwab brings kids outside to play on their own terms, and that’s hugely empowering. To see some of these children in wheelchairs able to go to the beach thanks to this amazing team is nothing short of inspiring.

Join us at Liars Club this Saturday 12/16/22 starting at 7p. Brand new toys welcomed and encouraged and there will be a raffle for some amazing prizes. Performances by Sweet Figurines, The Bama Lamas, Angela Eve and Eve’s Parlor Burlesque and an all star punk line up with The Nefarious Fat Cats! $20 at the door, 100% of proceeds to benefit KT’s Kids. If you can’t come in person, stream it live at zuma.live or go to www.ktskids.com to make a donation! Hope to see you there! <3 Lauren

This grandmother is charging her family for Christmas dinner

Caroline Duddridge, a mom of five and grandma of six, charges her family for Christmas dinner. She charges the adults $18, the middle children $12, and the THREE-YEAR-OLD GRANDCHILDREN $3. Per the New York Post, she charges the women less because they have families and work part time.

Duddridge started charging for Christmas dinner in 2016, and has since become part of the family’s traditions. If the dinner guests don’t pay on time, they simply get uninvited.

Is she a Karen for this? The conversation lives on Facebook!
